Bible Study Notebook

Today I am finishing up my series on Bible Study Organization.

I use a one subject notebook (which stays in my Bible Study Basket) for my daily Bible study. This is nothing special, just a simple notebook where I record my daily scripture reading and thoughts.

Note:  I only use this when I am actively involved in an actual "Bible Study".   I do not use this on a daily basis when I am simply reading my Bible.

I use the S.O.A.P. method for my Bible study.  I learned about this from the Good Morning Girls Bible Study Group that I am a part of.  I am currently leading my third online Bible study through Good Morning Girls.

It really is an easy method to use that in my opinion helps you to get a great deal out of your Bible reading.  Here is a sample of one of my pages from the first Bible study I did using S.O.A.P.

I know that all of these posts make it seem like I have a ton of stuff that I tote around my house from place to place but honestly I don't.  I have my one big binder and then my basket which holds everything else.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about how I keep my Bible study, devotion and prayer time organized.

Now just find a nice quiet place to sit with your coffee and enjoy the blessing of having a neat and organized Bible Study.

Do you have any ideas to share of how you organize yours?

  1. I also started the SOAP method, and I too use a decorative basket to house all my needs. At the end of the day the basket some with me to my night stand. Now what do you use a binder for?

    1. Thank you Inez for your comment. Don't you just love using the basket? You can read my post on my binder here: http://www.jensjourney77.blogspot.com/2013/02/bible-study-binder.html
Basically it a combination of a prayer journal and where I store print outs like from church, blogs, bible studies, etc...
Just another tool to keep me organized.
      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Visiting from the Titus blog hop. I have a journal that I use for my quiet time and small group that I attend. My whole church does the soap method. I didn't realize others did it too. It has been very helpful!

    1. Thank you Tanya for stopping by. I love the soap method. I had never heard of it until about a year ago when I got hooked up with the good morning girls bible study online. That is great that your whole church uses it.

  4. I too use a notebook to record my note. Actually, I tend to grab whatever random notebook is handy! Mental note~ I work 6 days/week, so am always on the run...
Then... down the road, I sit and review OLD Bible study notes (from church service, Wednesday night Bible study, personal study) and consolidate it all... usually it consolidates into a blog post! LOL
After reading through all comments, I am thinking I need to find a clear bag for all my Bible study supplies~ maybe with a long strap so I can carry it easily over my shoulder (I read my Bible on 'breaks at work for strength and already cary a lot in every day!)~ wonder what organization would do for me?!?!

    1. I have a ton of tote bags and rarely will you ever find me out without one that has my bible, pen, highlighter, notebook and maybe a devotion book in it. I take it with me to my boys ball practices and such. All my supplies are gathered in my basket so it makes it easy to toss it in my tote and go. Thanks for stopping by!

Pamela try to copy and paste the link above into your address bar and it should bring up all of the posts. You will just have to scroll through them (at least for the moment). It is my fault those links above are not working and I am working now to get them fixed. I apologize.
